Arcade Styled (Part 1)

On the third day of try after try after try (to TP into a full sim), I managed to get into the The Arcade Gacha June 2014 event. Some of what I picked up will be going to for trade or to friends because it's not my color(s), but I did get two of the event hairstyles in my signature red!

TRUTH:
A cute, curly updo/pigtail style. It's hud-controlled for a variety of red shades including ombre/fade options, and came with add-on choices of flowers or little bears for decoration. (However, since the flowers were pink and the bears orange, I will probably not use them much - your mileage may vary.)

Second Thoughts

Since my initial rant post about mesh clothes a year ago, there's been a great deal more variety added. I still have my reservations about it, but when the dress for this post went on sale I had to give it a try; the coverage of it resolves a lot of the issues that I had with those first couple of experiments in mesh.

Seems like the time I spent out of SL was very good to mesh, and if the majority of current offerings are like this one I'll be adding more mesh to the wardrobe. :)

Not a Ghost in the Machine

I'm still alive - or is that Second Alive? - despite a loooonnnnng RL-induced hiatus. Trying to get back into the swing of things, reconnect with some friends, tidy up my virtual "closet" and update my look a little.  (I managed three of those yesterday, stopping in at a dance where a DJ friend was spinning tunes, doing a first-round cull on my inventory, and then doing some hair and skin shopping.)

Hush

She crouched concealed in the leaves at the edge of the meadow, and watched the large creatures within with the same wariness she would any wild predator. Over the years it had gotten harder and harder to find refuge as they multiplied and spread over all the lands.

They're ready, her friends claimed. They've finally advanced to a point that we can interact with them reasonably.

She had her doubts. They still treated each other with such savagery, how could they be trusted to treat something smaller and physically more fragile then themselves with respect?
And yet... she wanted to believe that her friends were right and these overgrown, childlike beings had finally matured as a species. Taking a deep breath, she squared her shoulders and stepped out of her hiding spot into the open.

A hush fell over the meadow as stunned humans ignored their picnic lunch to stare while a fairy revealed herself for the first time in centuries.

"Depth Perception" (Single Frame Stories - Week 7)

For a while now I've been watching the images taken for "Single Frame Stories" go by in my Twitter stream; sometimes I've even had an image idea spring to mind, but not had the time or resources to actually get the shot. (Or, you know, my dirty little mind automatically takes it three steps beyond the recommended rating, which is why I didn't submit a shot I already had on my hard drive for "On Top"... ;D)
